Perfeqt is an at-home wellness testing kit that generates insights for 15 wellness parameters. However, the core aspect of test-taking experience was impacting the test result accuracy.
😡
Confusing test-taking instruction
The step-by-step instruction from the app is not reliable.
😡
Costly test strip waste
Misleading instructions caused errors and wasted €10 strips.

From a series of user interviews with health & wellness enthusiast, here’s what I discovered:
Words aren’t enough
When they told they had to follow the instructions precisely, they said that without visuals, it basically felt like there were no instructions at all.
Needs foolproof instructions
Scanning the test strip after urinating is a crucial part of the process, and users need precise, foolproof instructions.
My final designs are shaped by earlier iterations and user feedback: clearer guidance, fewer steps, and more explicit instructions.
Immediate UI Feedback for Intuitive Interaction
Visual feedback during the scanning process lets users know right away if they’re doing it correctly.
Instruction with Contextual Visual
I found that instructions work best when paired with visuals like illustrations, animations, or icons, giving users clearer context.
Conversational Test Results
Using human-readable content instead of charts helped users feel more confident about their test results.
We tested our early prototype with a group of early adopters to test different UX writing, visual elements, step flows, and supporting assets.

While Perfeqt is not intended to replace lab or medical testing (as clearly stated in our disclaimer), most users still found it valuable for gaining quick wellness insights within just 2 minutes.

I am available for an online conversation at your convenience to explore potential roles and how I can add value to your organization.
